A boutique enrichment studio where children ages 1–8 step into a tiny town of their own — running a market stall, delivering the mail, tending a garden — and practice the real skills underneath the play.
Join the WaitlistTown & Tale started the way most honest things do — not as a business plan, but as a feeling.
I became a mother at 22. In the quiet, overwhelming first months with my daughter, I found myself calling my own mom constantly — not just for the comfort of it, but for her expertise. She's spent over twenty years in the psychology field, and today she works as a BCaBA, helping children build the everyday skills that let them move through the world with confidence. I'd grown up watching her do this work. Now, watching my own daughter begin to grow, I understood it in a completely different way.
We started talking about what it would look like to build something together — a space that didn't feel like therapy, didn't feel like a classroom, and definitely didn't feel like a gym full of foam pits. Somewhere beautiful enough that you'd want to spend your Saturday morning there, and honest enough that your child was actually learning something real underneath all that imagination.
That's Town & Tale. It's the two of us — a mother and daughter, one generation of experience and one generation of new motherhood — building the place we both wished existed.
22 years old, mother to a 7-month-old daughter. Ana Maria leads the vision, design, and day-to-day of Town & Tale — building the studio she wishes she'd grown up walking into.
49 years old, a BCaBA with over 20 years in the psychology field. She brings two decades of hands-on experience in naturalistic teaching to every story Town & Tale tells.
A mother-daughter business, built on twenty years of experience and one very new reason to care about it even more.
Town & Tale isn't an indoor playground. It's a story-driven studio grounded in how children actually learn — through play that means something in the moment. A child doesn't drill counting; they run out of apples at their market stall. They don't drill patience; they're waiting for the seedling they promised to water. The result feels like imagination. Underneath, it's real practice.
Following directions, taking turns, and the small routines of travel — practiced long before their first real flight.
Counting, money concepts, and the patience of waiting your turn in line.
Taking orders, teamwork, and following a meal from kitchen to table.
Making choices, simple transactions, and the fine-motor fun of scooping and serving.
Safety rules, quick thinking, and knowing exactly what to do when it matters.
Gentle hands and real responsibility — complete with a rocking cow, a ride-on horse, and a little garden bed of their own to plant and tend.
Caregiver by their side, sensory-first stations, and a gentle introduction to the town.
Independent play with a full role of their own — the shopkeeper, the server, the gardener.
Real responsibility, multi-step tasks, and the confidence of running a station solo.
No class, no schedule — just the run of the town. A relaxed way to spend a morning, drop in on a whim, or let a membership cover it all.
Our full instructor-led experience — the six story worlds, taught in small groups by age band, one class each week.

"We built Town & Tale because our own children needed somewhere to practice being capable — not just entertained. We wanted a place beautiful enough to feel like a treat, and honest enough to actually teach something." — ANA MARIA & YOSLEIDY, CO-FOUNDERS
